Robert Chace established his business valuation practice in July, 2015, and is operated as a professional service corporation. This was a result of a merger and split off of the previous accounting firm, Chace & Spurgeon, P.S.
Prior to Chace CPA PS
Mr. Chace established an independent practice in 1985, operating as a sole practitioner until merging with David Spurgeon in 1994 to create Chace & Spurgeon, P.S. A certified Public Accountant with more than 30 years of professional experience, Robert specializes in assisting clients with business valuations. A recognized authority on business valuations, Robert has advised attorneys and financial planners concerning valuations, has appeared as an expert witness on numerous occasions, and has attended professional development courses sponsored by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Prior to founding his firm, Robert progressed steadily throughout his career beginning at the Internal Revenue Service; moving on to Tax Manager at Arthur Young & Co.; then Tax Partner at Whitaker, Lipp & Healea, CPAs; and manger of the Tax Department at Moss Adams.
Robert has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration form the University of Cincinnati, and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the states of Washington, Oregon and Ohio. He has also earned Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV) by the AICPA.
Robert’s professional memberships include the AICPA; the Washington, Oregon and Ohio Societies of CPAs; the Estate Planning Council for Southwest Washington; and the AICPA’s Forensic and Business Valuation Section. He is also very active his community, and has served in executive and/or board membership positions for the Longview Community Church, Community Home Health/Hospice Agency, Community Home Health/Hospice Foundation, Community Foundation for Southwest Washington, and the Longview Rotary Club. Robert is also a member of the Kelso Longview Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of the office, Robert enjoys spending time with his wife, three grown children, seven grandchildren, playing tennis and traveling.
